What is Remix Culture?

My understanding is that it revolves around combining, salvaging parts of old previous materials or design and to create a new idea or object. Essentially ranges from taking little bits and pieces here and there from existing objects to a much bigger scale such as fan-based art, or perhaps a literal mashup between two completely different objects but remixed for functionality or concept.

With that, I explored a bunch of areas and also the program "Meshmixer". From fan-based art, literal mashings, to substituting existing uses or functionalities with different or similar ones. Here are the 10 my mashups I enjoyed mashing together.

210 Castle Project: The Librarian's Keep

I did not know how to start this project, but after pondering for a while, I thought it be best to go out of the conventional views of a castle and with that also to push myself and see how complex and detail orientated I can get. Thus begins the ideas for a floating sci-fi castle/keep structure with a side of painful waiting times and struggles for the past 4 days. The Grind, The Hell Layer, The Breakthrough

I am a little behind on the blog post yet again, but hopefully I'll be able to go through what I have encountered in the past 2 weeks of nonstop grinding, rendering the hell layer, and the breakthrough. The Grind. So, in terms of work flow, I measure everything out by hand and keep them on a piece of paper as like notes and references to look at as I'm rendering each components. Also by doing this, it's reducing time measuring each hole or component again for the later parts. Though it's easy to measure each side of it, there was one particular part that was an anomaly, thus it took an extra amount of time than usual. Dissecting and Recording

A bit late and this blog does not like to be published with pictures by mobile, but I'll sum up what happened during the past 2 weeks. May have realized that disassembling the entire camera may have one too many parts to do when you have no place to properly disassemble it, but luckily found the spot to do it a week later and now here we are. The disassembly was not actually so bad, I enjoyed taking it apart, it was pretty cool seeing how everything clicked in together and how everything is held together. Up until when I discovered I couldn't take off the top casing because it's painfully being held on by 2 microscopic screws in the worse place possible, and now I am just stuck with a partially disassembled camera.
