A Very Late, painful, and non progressive Pattern.
For my pattern at the moment, I had a trouble time thinking about patterns we see in our daily lives, and in the back of my mind I had a thought for origami paper. Looked at a bunch of different designs for some of them and started mocking up one, until it gave me a bunch of troubles and it wasn't lining up as I hoped for.
And so after thinking of an alternative way of using origami paper, I thought about how far I can take the scale for this pattern and I thought about the pattern that our city gives. Thus I looked up at the road works and the pattern it gives. and then from there decided to mush the two ideas together and have it as one.
But along the way, had alot of difficult times rendering the hatches for my designs, my computer crashed alot of times and at times the split I wanted to do ended up freezing the program or taking 15 mins to complete the command. But here are some images that I have for it and hopefully I'll be able to upload another post later on during the week before I drown myself with the other assignment.
Some Origami Patterns
This is an image I found of google image of a roadmap of the downtown Calgary area.
My struggles with the hatch command freezing up after it was chugging it for like 15 mins.
Current Point at the moment, after struggling with both of these designs because I skipped a step or two by accident so I wasn't able to snap to the hatch and move it.
Also had issues where the hatch wasn't filling up the right areas properly
For some reason, it would only allow me to click on certain squares or areas, but if I click on another square it would reset the entire selection.
A full view of the pattern, each pattern is separated by a major road found in Calgary. Crowchild Trail running top to bottom on the left, Memorial Drive running through the middle, Highway 1 running through the top horizontally, and finally Deerfoot Trail running on the right vertically.
